Provision Of Teaching Time For Physical Education and Health

     The time as scheduled and allocated by the Ministry of Education Malaysia are very short and limited for the students. The time at scheduled only provide two period in a week for this subject. So,its is not fair to other subject and the students also because as we know that students like play at field. That why students had to agree the time at their scheduled when they doing physical activity at field. Sometime, the student unsatisfied with that situation but they must obey it. There also students extend their time playing at field in recess time.
     Physical Education is a field of knowledge that combines aspects of education through physical movement activities in sports. So, this is important to make students always active study in the class. So, the teaching and learning process of teachers should be meaningful and effective by mastering pedagogical content at a high level. This will help the students not bored while study physical and health education.

Physical Facilities And Equipment

      The other challenge to teach physical and health education at school is the physical facilities and equipment that we have in school. We need infrastructure facilities and equipment while doing physical activity.If the teachers or school don't have facilities, it is hard to teach this subject at school. For example there are so many school that have problem to get a large field to handle a game during they want to teach physical education or training sports. This happen due to high real estate value that causes the area of the school narrow. So, because of this problem, there are so many game that occur in a same time at field that can harmful to the student, like training hockey, softball and football during the physical education at field. This is very dangerous to all students because too many activities happen in a same time with the number of teacher are limited.
     The problem of  equipment also another issue that happen in a rural area. Some of the equipment not enough. The budget to buy a sport equipment are  used for school development infrastructure. Consequences of this,student have to use the old equipment that dangerous to them to use it. So, the responsibility of teachers are very importance here. They must know how to use their own creativity to interest their students.

      According to Shulman(1987), teachers need to master the core of knowledge especially science to teach effectively in the field of students at school. This is very important because the main goal of teaching of teachers in school is to do the best teaching and learning process that can motivated students while they are study physical and health education at school. Teaching students without any facilities and equipment are same as teaching them the other subject without any books.  A co-curriculum is being formed depends of the facilities that the school have. The student will be active if the equipment are enough to them(Muhd Sofian, 2006). So, later if the school does not have equipment teacher must creative to do their teaching and learning work with efficiently. 

Lack Of Physical And Health Education Options Teacher

   My name is Reinnyca Sandau, student from Physical and Health education class ED246 4A. We are required to do a blog about the challenge of teaching Physical education in schools for subject in Administration of Physical and Health Education In Secondary School. The first challenge is about lack of Physical and Health Education options teachers. There are some schools that physical education subject not teached by the teachers who have the options in sport science or physical and health education subjects. The teachers in this options very lack at several school in our country. The school thinks that this physical and health education subject can be teach by the other teachers because not included in SPM exam. When the physical and health education not included in exam paper, some of the teacher not teach the students with seriousness. They teach like just for fun and enjoy to the students. Other than that, some of the teachers just give the students ball and leave it to the students to play it whatever they want. The students not teach or show how to play, the basic techniques to pass ball to their friends and so on because the teachers who came from other options less experience in this subject.
     According to Pissanos and Temple(1990), they reported that the teacher in physical and health education options disappointed  with the quality of teaching that not in options of physical and health background because their teaching natural "follow what the teacher told you to do" from centralized teaching how to do and why we need to do this skill.
     As a conclusion of this first challenge, this can be improve  by increase the teachers who has options in this subject at each school at least two teachers. Improve knowledge by joining activity that related to physical and health education to the other teachers that came from other options also can help to manage this problem.
